A Sculpture, a Film, & Six Videos

A Sculpture, a Film, & Six Videos was an exhibition of a sculpture, a film, and a survey of six recent video artworks in Wesleyan’s art gallery. The centerpiece of the show was the Peter Fischli & David Weiss’ sculpture, Son et Lumiere (Le Rayon Vert) which ran in constant motion, as works by other artists were projected on the walls.

The accompanying website was contained within the rounded frame of an old-fashioned viewfinder. Repurposing the aesthetic of drop-shadow film captions, information on the site was designed to float over imagery, evoking a sense of irony and nostalgia. Instead of a typical 'back to menu’ button, we used a ‘shrink video’ symbol, a nod to the iconography of broadcast media.
